Abstract

Nusantara philosophy is still looking for the most ideal form. M. Nasroen, R. Parmono, and Soenoto as ‘pioneers’ of Indonesian philosophy have provided good thought for the developmentof nusantara philosophy in Indonesia. Although in the development of Indonesian philosophy and nusantara philosophy is considered the same, but the two discourses still cannot be agreed upon. The development of nusantara philosophy involves various thoughts. Therefore, this study attempts to provide a description of the thoughts of the ‘pioneers’ of Indonesian philosophy inhopes of seeing how far the development of nusantara philosophy. The method used is qualitative research with comparative methods. Comparisons from the three figures found that M. Nasroen, R. Parono, and Soenoto have their own thoughts on Indonesian philosophy that have not answered the boundaries and embrace of thinking that develops beyond the geographical linesof Indonesia. It is also found that their thoughts are related to philosophy as a process or product of a culture. Through the research it was found that the thought of the three figures had manyinfluences on the current concepts of nusantara philosophy that led closer to the ideal form of nusantara philosophy

Abstract

This study will discuss the strengthening of Pancasila ideology as an antidote to religious radicalism that is able to threaten the unity dan integrity of the Indonesian nation. This study aims to describe that Pancasila is the fundamental ideological foundation of every Indonesian society against the problems of religious radicalism that disturbs the beauty of diversity that has existed in the midst of the Indonesian nation so far. As the basis of the state philosophy, the ideology of Pancasila is contrary to the notion of religious radicalism because it can undermine the unity dan integrity of the nation. The literature study method used in this research is to describe the general picture of the problems experienced by the Indonesian people regarding religious radicalism, which also systematically proposes efforts to counteract the dangers of religious radicalism through strengthening the ideology of Pancasila. Sources of data will be taken from the majority of scientific journals published in the last 7 (seven) years as well as supporting books related to the discussion theme. How to obtain these data is by researchers conducting research dan literacy approaches that are relevant to the research theme. The data will be analyzed in depth by the researchers so that they are able to describe the general picture regarding the problems of religious radicalism experienced by the Indonesian people, as well as the solution through strengthening the ideology of Pancasila. Thus, strengthening the Pancasila ideology as an antidote to religious radicalism is expected to be a solution in establishing the unity dan integrity of the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

Analysis of behaviorism theory when viewed with axiology will reflect the field of philosophy with psychology. In addition, it also reflects the values and implementation of behaviorism in order to have a positive and useful impact on human life. The purpose of this study was to determine the axiological values that exist in the psychology of behaviorism, including ethics and aesthetics. The existence of a study of the axiological flow of behaviorism will certainly have a positive impact on knowledge of the value of the axiological flow or behaviorism approach so that its usefulness and application can be known in everyday life. This study uses a qualitative research method of literature study with content analysis techniques, namely by reviewing the contents of books, articles or journals, then continuing with the categorization of the results of the study which then ends with conclusions and research suggestions. The results show that the ethical concept of behaviorism is related to the moral theory proposed by Immanuel Kant, namely the concept of desired obligation and based on responsibility or autonomy. Then the aesthetic concept ofbehaviorism meets Immanuel Kant's aesthetic concept, namely subjective and objective aesthetics.

Abstract

The relation between mathematics and reality is a philosophical problem that needs more attention, considering that mathematics and philosophy, especially ontology, are two fields that discuss reality at a higher level than other sciences, such as physics. The Liang Gie is one of the few philosophical figures in Indonesia who pays more attention to philosophical problems in the field of mathematics, through three parts of his work in the field of philosophy of mathematics. One of the topics discussed in his work is related to mathematical ontology. This study aims to explore the main points of The Liang Gie's thoughts, which are related to mathematical ontology, especially related to the relationship between the mathematical mind and reality. This article is a literature study on the thoughts of The Liang Gie's mathematical ontology. By using qualitative research methods in the field of philosophy, the data obtained from the literature study will be processed to obtain a philosophical knowledge that has implications for real life. There are three assumptions that can be concluded through the discussion of this research. First, some figures think that mathematics can stand alone with its own existence without having to relate to objects in the real world. Second, there is also an assumption that mathematics is considered responsible for everything in the universe or even mathematics is considered as the universe itself. Third, inmany ways mathematics has a strong relationship with empirical phenomena, especially with regard to the measurement process. These three conclusions can then be linked to themathematical philosophy approach, such as Platonism, Absolutism, and Fallibilism.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the higher-order thinking skills needed in developing 21st CenturySkills. Education as an effort to educate the nation's life places the ability to think as a necessarycompetency. The purpose of the education system is to form educated people who are independent and can think effectively and critically. Every individual need critical thinking skill tosolve problems in difficult situations. The roots of critical thinking are as ancient as the beginningof philosophical thought. About 2500 years ago, Socrates discovered the method of inquiry(probing questioning). The concept of critical thinking then developed to the current era. Thedevelopment concept of critical thinking from the point of view of philosophy is important to study to gain a holistic understanding of the critical thinking framework. The method used to compile this article is library research. Several definitions of critical thinking of mutually supportive or complementary. The concept of thinking in a critical review on the nature, attitude, and quality of thinking. The concept of critical thinking is eight things, namely: analysis, reasoning, inference, comparison, hypothesis, synthesis (new ideas), testing, and comprehensive conclusions.

Abstract

Evolution occurs because of the process of changing species within a certain period of time with the aim of being able to adapt to their environment and these changes will be passed on to the next generation or to their descendants. The theory of evolution in the Biological Sciences came to light with the publication of Charles Darwin's book (On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection) in 1859, which presented cases of evolution and was able to relate previously confusing collections of facts. In the 1930s scientists combined Darwin's natural selection with Mendelian's theory of heredity and formed the modern evolutionary synthesis "Neo-Darwinism". Neo Darwinism theory states that evolution is based on gene mutations that work together at the protein network level and change the phenotype of living things. Current technological developments allow scientists to carry out genetic engineering and genetic engineering processes based on Darwin's theory of evolution. The purpose of this paper is to conduct a philosophi study (Epistemology, Ontology and axiology) of Darwin's Evolution in technological progress. This article was prepared using a library research and review approach. The study of genetic engineering epistemology explains how genetic engineering techniques were obtained and how genetic engineering techniques developed. Ontology studies talk about the nature of genetic engineering and the scientific structure of genetic engineering. While the study of Axiologydiscusses the benefits and disadvantages caused by genetic engineering.

Abstract

The development of data science or machine learning is experiencing swift growth. This development can become a pseudoscience due to the process of collecting, using algorithms, and processing data that are not per research standards. Machine learning is one of numerous artificial intelligence (AI) techniques that allow a machine to learn independently. Several machine learning implementations include consulting robots, process optimization, credit scoring, security, and services. Data science often uses supervised learning algorithms, which can be trapped intopseudoscience due to errors in the use and processing of data in research. The solution to avoid this is to apply the epistemological concept of Karl Popper, which is related to the falsification ofscience to solve the problem of demarcation. To enhance it, you can also use the principles of the Four Theory of Truth, namely coherence, correspondence, pragmatism, and consensus.

Abstract

The study of this article gave attention to the panoramic scheme of new thinking patterns in education during a pandemic. The methodology used in the study is qualitative-descriptive. The theme raised by the author is postmodern Cartesian metaphysics about the concept of thinking in determining an awareness of human existence. The discussion contains an elaboration of thinking activities in learning through the Zoom learning application and Rene Descartes’ famous philosophy of “Cogito Ergo Sum”. Understanding the Cartesian method always doubts everything that is visible to the senses. The purpose of writing is to explore the influence of online classroom situations in human thinking processes to achieve scientific certainty in front of a spectral screen. Knowledge is mindful awareness. The reality of Zoom’s current effectiveness creates a paradox. Online learning creates an interactive space but on the other it also has an impact on creating a saturate space in learning so that it affects the awareness of human thinking to achieve knowledge. The author finds a shift in the important meaning of Descartes’ “Cogito Ergo Sum” to “Cogito Ergo Zoom”. This is inseparable from the dependence of the current pattern of human thinking on networks system and spectral screens.

Abstract

Human dignity is a special and natural value in the discourse of metaphysical philosophy. The focus of this article is intended to reveal an aspect of the natural values, namely my relationship with God, others, and nature. There is an intimate relationship in the human life that becomes a kind of "metaphysical friendship" that needs to be explore. This metaphysical friendship implies my relationship with God, other, and nature. The purpose of this research is that every human being has a spirituality of respect for the dignity of himself and his fellow human beings. Humans need to realize that they do not live alone but with God, others, and nature. The fruit of the spirituality of friendship is like a "crumb of bread" which leads to the unity of life in the principle of the "banquet table," namely Bonum Commune. Regarding methodology, we use library research through the study of various sources, books and metaphysical-philosophical articles that are in accordance with this discourse. This study finds that the friendly relationship of love with God, others, and nature is a natural unity that expresses a sublime dignity that will never be complete, final, and definitive to be translated into everyday life. The novelty in this "metaphysical friendship" is that I as "being" are in the awareness of being with others. This “awareness of being together with” is important and crucial to continue to strive for as a man of faith and reason.

Abstract

21st century learning emphasizes four aspects, one of which is critical thinking. From a philosophical perspective, critical thinking is a self-directed assessment that results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as an explanation of the evidence based on conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations on which thejudgment is based. Critical thinking has a long history, starting from the thought and teaching of Socrates and developing rapidly in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance era, with various theories and debates that continue to develop today. This article presents the ontological, epistemological, and axiological views of critical thinking through library research obtained from the analysis and synthesis of scientific articles in the field of science. The ontological view of critical thinking in science is focused on developing the ability to critically analyze discourse to develop action. In the view of epistemology, critical thinking is seen as a tool to increase understanding or as a tool to determine truth or untruth based on the views of scientists or academics. Meanwhile, in the axiological view of critical thinking, it can be seen from its usefulness in science. From the three views above, different areas of critical thinking in sciencecan be found.
